Annual Service 2009

Our Annual service this year took place at Durham Cathedral on Saturday 26th September at 2.30pm.  Once again, Revd Hugh Broadbent wrote a beautiful service for us.

Our speaker was Revd Dr Steven Shakespeare - Lecturer in Philosophy in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at Liverpool Hope University.  His inspiring sermon is available to download here.

We were delighted to discover that Durham Cathedral has a thriving colony of pipistrelle bats and we saw several flying around in the cloisters.

We would like to thank the Durham Singers for performing so beautifully and also Jo Buckley who played the ASWA 'theme tune' - Gabriels Theme (Ennio Morricone) from the film 'The Mission' on her oboe.

Please visit our articles section for downloads of sermons from previous years annual services including last years sermon by Rt Revd Dr Michael Nazir Ali - former Bishop of  Rochester.
